Pamela J.
Fenner (Carol Stream)

Class of 1999

Pamela Fenner
brings impressive combined elective and life
experience to her position as President of the Illinois Lincoln
Series. Her commitment to public service is based on her years as
a parent, small businesswoman, elected village trustee, GOP activist
and community leader.
Born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago, Fenner
moved to DuPage County in 1977, where she and Wayne,
her husband of 30 years, chose to live and raise their two
children. Pam discovered her entrepreneurial spirit at an early
age. While attending Taft High School she received top
awards for her participation with DECA. At age 20, Pam lost
her father, as a result she found it necessary to forgo attending
college at that time, but within two years she has founded her first
successful small business, which focused on the care of senior
citizens.
Fenner, 54, is President of
Fenner and Associates Computer Technologies and President of
Computer Services and
Networking Inc. home-based computer and technology service
businesses. She attended
Roosevelt
University, is certified as a word
processing specialist from the
College of DuPage and
has her Network Engineer and A+ Computer certifications.
As an information and technology expert she is frequently
called upon by civic and professional organizations to lecture on
Internet safety and identity fraud.
In addition, she has pursued
community and public service, enriching the lives of those whom she has served,
which is reflected in her long time membership and leadership role with the
Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce,
as a Rotarian with the Carol Stream
Rotary Club, and her decade long involvement with the popular
Carol Stream 4th of July
Parade. Pam is also a
member of the Bloomingdale, West Chicago
and Winfield Chambers.
As a volunteer for Junior
Achievement, Pam shares her experiences and acumen by mentoring elementary
school students. As a founding
member of 100+ Women Who Care, Pam
works with an organization where she can give in a small way, yet have a large
impact in the lives of those in need.
In 1993 she sought and won a
position as Trustee on the
Carol Stream Village Board, she was
the top vote getter in her April, 2005 re-election.
As a member of the Village Board, Pam
has brought her ability to listen and build consensus to a wide variety of
committees including; the DuPage Mayors
and Managers Legislative Committee, as a
Vice-Chairman and
Ethics Committee Chair for the DuPage
Housing Authority. She oversaw
the hearings on a proposed Carol Stream waste transfer station in 2004, spending over
57 hours, listening to testimony and reviewing the concerns of the community.
Led by her thoughtful deliberation, the Board denied the proposal.
Fenner’s political involvement and
ties to the Republican Party include hundreds of volunteer hours on behalf of
numerous county candidates, as a Wayne
Township (#17) precinct committeeman and in her role as Secretary of the
Wayne-Winfield Republican Women’s Club.
She was selected as a Fellow in the 1999 class of the
Illinois
Lincoln
Excellence in Public Service Series, a program dedicated to training and
mentoring women in political and public service.
She serves on the Board of the Lincoln Series as President and webmaster.
In 2002 she managed
John Millner’s successful primary
and general campaigns for the State House in District #55.
Pam and Wayne live in Carol Stream
with Pam’s mother, Mary Slown Tomaska,
86. Their daughter,
Mary, 28,
lives in Bartlett, IL with her husband, Adam Oswald.
Their son Kurt, 23, lives in
Bement, IL with his wife, Brittany.
The Fenners are members of the Our
Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carol Stream.
