Class of 2010
Linda Brown
Linda resides in Tuscola and currently serves as Secretary for
the Douglas County Republican Central Committee.
Additionally, she is an active member of the Douglas
County Republican Women’s Club and has served as a Precinct
Committeeman for the past two years. Prior to her
active role within the Republican Party, she was elected to the
TCUSD 301 School Board in 2003 and served one term.
Locally, Linda has volunteered and been a member of the local
chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Their active Chapter serves the
children of the community through monetary donations, programs
and assistance with basic needs.
She has also attended 40 hours of training in order to
become an advocate for Beth’s Place, a home in the community
that serves as a safe shelter for women and children that are
homeless and/or victims of domestic violence.
Within her school district, Linda served as the Lifesaver
co-sponsor for four years.
This national program promotes an alcohol and drug free
lifestyle within the entire district.
Professionally, Linda is a Certified Veterinary Technician at
the University
of Illinois
with the Agricultural Animal Care and Use Program.
She served as the Corresponding/Recording Secretary for
the Veterinary Technician Association of Illinois from 1989-1992
and as Treasurer from 1993-1995.
In addition, she served as Vice President of the Illinois
Society of Histotechnologists, Central Chapter, in 1996.
Within her profession, she has published scientific
articles and a chapter within a textbook.
Linda has two daughters, Christin (Brown) Shirazi and Alexandria
Brown who have truly been a blessing in her life.
