Cindy Williams,
Hinsdale, is the Corporate Counsel for the Federal Signal Corporation in Oak Brook,
Illinois
as well as the Director of the newly established Governmental
Affairs Department at the Company.
She
received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan
in 1985 and a law degree from Indiana University,
Bloomington
in 1988. Cindy worked as a
defense trial attorney at the
Chicago
law firm of Lord, Bissell & Brook from 1988 through 1999, primarily
defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases.
Cindy left the law firm in 1999 to care for her four children.
During this period, she volunteered in a number of charitable
organizations including as President and Vice President of the
Hinsdale Junior Woman's Club.
In 2003, Cindy was elected to a four-year term as Trustee to the
Hinsdale Village Board and was reelected in 2007.
She has been appointed to the following positions: Chair of Zoning
and Public Safety Committee; Chair of the Environment and Public Service
Committee; Strategic Planning Council Executive Member; Special Liaison to
the Economic Development Commission and, Leader of the Hinsdale Task Force
addressing the village’s electric service.
Cindy served as the Village President Pro Tem 2007-2009.
Cindy is a founding member of the Red Cross Tiffany Circle and has been
active over the last year raising funds and educating the public about the
mission of the Red Cross. Most
recently, she was appointed to the Marketing Advisory Council of the Chicago
2016 Olympic Committee.
