Amy Sholar
Class of 2014

Amy Sholar is 2014 graduate of the Illinois Lincoln Series. Amy is a life long resident of the City of Alton in Madison County, Illinois. She is a graduate of SIU-Edwardsville with a Bachelor’s of Science and Business Administration. She went on to St. Louis University, where she received her law degree in 2001. After law school, Amy worked for the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office and the City of Alton. Thereafter, she went into private practice in 2004, handling criminal defense and family litigation. Amy has served as a Guardian Ad Litem in countless cases representing minor children who are either victims of abuse and neglect or the subject of custody trials. She served as a Special Public Defender for over five years handling thousands of juvenile abuse and neglect cases.

Amy serves as a Republican Precinct Committeewoman and has been actively involved in the Madison County Republican Party. She has worked on a number of political campaigns. In 2012, she ran for Madison County State’s Attorney in the democratic stronghold of Madison County.

Amy has two grown children, both who reside in the Alton area. She serves on a variety of local not-for-profit boards, and she is actively involved in her church.
